The Importance Of Reducing The Intensity Of A Sonic Boom

Shawn Merrick-Miller Ryan Cilsick Science Research 12/20/16 The importance of reducing the intensity of a sonic boom is essential to making supersonic flight a possibility for passenger aircraft over land. Currently, supersonic flight over land in the US is prohibited by the FAA due to the annoyance associated with the sonicboom to people (observers) on the ground. The advancement of sonic boom reduction could lead to the advancement in the way we travel around the world with amazing speeds. Speeds up to mach 3.3 at 88,000ft (That s nearly 17 miles!) can be achieved in an SR-71 Blackbird, that keep in mind, it was made and introduced in 1966. 50 years later, we have the ability to transport people vast distances and at high speeds safely, but we don’t. Why not? Getting up to speed is not the issue in this circumstance, the issue is doing it quietly. It can be said that this problem can be eliminated by making a suborbital transport aircraft, which could be very beneficial, but will still create a sonic boom, and will still, annoy peopl e. At a higher price. Supersonic flight was pioneered by the air force in 1947, when Chuck Yeager became the first man to break the sound barrier. Shortly after, supersonic aircraft research was started. â€Å"Supersonic cruising aircraft did not begin until the mid-1950 s. How Julius Caesars actions of intelligence and leadership...

A hero is defined as a person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose. Some people say that this means that a hero is someone who must risk his life to save millions of people. Others say that this means a hero is one who dies for what he believes in. And still others say that this means that a hero is somebody who fights against overwhelming odds. All of those qualities are certain qualities of a hero, but, going back to mythological times, a hero is one who fought in great battles against overwhelming odds, in order to restore an empire or disable an enemy. In doing so, this hero killed many adversaries, and was called a hero by just how many he had slain. Julius Caesar, one of the greatest historical figures of all-time,†¦show more content†¦By all accounts he was also able, with the prescience of genius, to deduce what Pompeys battle-plan would be and to prepare his own counterstrokes accordingly. When Pompey massed his cavalry on his left wing to destroy Caesa rs forces, Caesar placed cohorts of infantry to meet them and held hidden units in reserve. With orders to strike at the faces of the young Pompeians, Caesars legions panicked Pompeys cavalry, which broke and fled. Caesar then threw in reinforcements and outflanked Pompeys entire army. (Suzanne Cross). This was an excellent show of intelligence. Caesar took what he knew about the enemy, and applied it in his plans. His intelligence is what panicked the cavalry, and his intelligence is what gave him the victory. This proves that making logical decisions is much more intelligent than going into battle, hoping for a miraculous victory. As written in The Three Kingdoms, by Luo Guanzhong, Zhuge Liang, a legendary Chinese strategist of the Shu kingdom, is quoted as saying, Those who are skilled in combat do not become angered, those who are skilled at winning do not become afraid. Thus the wise win before they fight, while the ignorant fight to win. This also proves that making logical decisions before battle is much more intelligent than going into battle without thinking. This statement means that, in order to win in battle, one must plan ahead. Applying this statement to Julius Caesar, he had already won

Answer: Introduction Due to the growing number of companies, the strategic planning of the company will be vital to the business success or otherwise. It is in the five year strategic planning that the company will be able to forge for a prosperous future. The name of the company is Sanlem industries a leading technological service provider in the country. With the growth of technological services, the better the strategic plan, the more the company will last. The vision To be a leading company in service provision and to better the livelihood of the people through our products The mission To have increasingly important contribution to economies and in the well-being of its inhabitants, as large companies gain in volume of production and the places of employment generated in the country. Likewise, companies in these categories have been increasing their share in the number of jobs in the country, in production, in the Gross Domestic Product and in exports The goals In order to carry out the planning of their business, entrepreneurs have some resources external to the company. The entities that can assist entrepreneurs in their planning processes are of two types: institutions whose objective is to promote the creation and development of companies and private companies engaged in consulting activities, for commercial purposes. However, there is a gap in resources that allow them to carry out their own planning processes (Undertake business planning, 2007). Products and services The model begins with the interaction between the various elements of the formulation of the strategy, from the recognition of non-economic responsibility to society, the personal values of managers, the resources of the company and the identification of opportunities and risks. The definition of corporate strategy is framed within the purposes and policies that define your company and its field of action. The processes defined in the development of the strategy involve the consideration of the elements of the environment, the opportunities and the risks, the capacities of the organization, the corporate resources and the competencies, so as to identify the best match between the opportunities and the resources. As a technological company, the services offered to the country are the broadband technology and voice services. Goals, Milestones, strategies Goals and Milestones Once the strategy is defined, it is necessary to carry out the implementation of the model, taking the necessary actions to achieve the defined results. Within this implementation are taken into account the structure and relationships within the organization, the organizational processes and behaviors and the leadership required to achieve the results. It is the steps defined above, a basic structure for the development of the strategy and its corresponding execution plans can be designed. The structure of the model developed takes into account not only the factors stated above, but also the way in which the employer must define his policies and action plans and their measurement. Starting from the conceptual model, the structure of the tool was defined. This has a text that serves as a body to the plan that the entrepreneur is developing as he follows the steps indicated in the planning process and, as he moves forward in the planning steps, the entrepreneur finds hyperlinks that take him to the pages that Contain the conceptual explanations and the aids that have been included and allow the understanding and application of the elements of the plan (Rotha?rmel, 2017). In a first stage the concept of mission and the evaluation of the factors external to the company, that is to say, the environment and the competitors, are developed. Within this same module the strategic analysis takes place until it reaches the financial and non-financial objectives of the business. Marketing With a very good department of marketing, Sanlem will make a five year marketing plan to grow its revenue while broadcasting and advertising its products and services as the best. Next, the process of defining the basic business strategies is studied. Once these are defined, the basic plans for the execution of the strategies, ie the marketing plan, the operational plan, the execution plan and the financial plan, are specified. The latter is the expression, in figures, of how the business will meet its plans and achieve the objectives that have been defined. Sales Projected sales for the fine years are as follows; Year amount in dollars 2017 123 M 2018 141 M 2019 161.5 M 2020 172 M 2021 200 M The model developed represents a contribution to enable small and medium entrepreneurs to improve their planning processes.Microenterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises, generally known as SMEs, have become increasingly important both in their contribution to Colombia's economy and the well-being of its inhabitants, as large companies In the volume of production and the places of employment generated in the country. Pricing and business strategy The current trend in the world is towards a gradual decrease in the total dependence that individuals had in the past of their employment. In developed countries it is observed how, more and more, people seek to generate their own sources of work. Similarly, small and medium-sized enterprises can become a powerful engine of the economy if they manage to develop and become competitive in the globalized environment in which they must move (Rotha?rmel, 2017). Business Competition The industry is very competitive and it would be in order. In order to carry out the planning of their business, entrepreneurs have some resources external to the company. In addition, it would be important for them to rely on others they can use without requiring the monitoring or assistance of external persons or entities. Planning Tools Available To Entrepreneurs In fact entrepreneurs can find a series of aids by specialized entities. These entities are of two types, institutions whose objective is to promote the creation and development of companies, and private companies engaged in consulting activities, for commercial purposes. However, there is a gap in resources that allow them to carry out their own planning processes (Gevurtz, Gevurtz, n.d.). Within the available external resources, they are counted: Institutional Business Development Centers of the universities. Business Development Centers of the Chambers of Commerce. Proexport Expopymes Program. Non-governmental organizations, such as Ficitec or Fundes. Incubators of companies. Commercial: Consulting companies. The resources for use within the company with which entrepreneurs could count are: Models of business plans available via the internet. Specialized software. Books and publications. In making an evaluation of the possibilities that entrepreneurs have in the categories listed above, the following conclusions are obtained: Models via internet Most of them are focused on the search for resources and, to a much lesser extent, on planning (they are oriented towards presenting the plan to venture capitalists). Available models are usually in English. By their nature, they are insufficient in tools and aid. They do not include key issues for Colombian entrepreneurs (for example, those related to exports). Do not consider the Colombian reality In terms of terminology In the legal, tax, accounting aspects. As for the business environment. Specialized software. Palo Alto Software's Business Plan Pro 4.0 is the only specialized software to aid in the development of business plans. The language in which the software is located is English. The software has good content in terms of explanations and structure, but is insufficient in tools and aids. It does not consider the Colombian reality. Conceptual Model The model illustrated in Figurebegins with the interaction between the various elements of strategy formulation, from the recognition of non-economic accountability to society, the personal values of managers, company resources and the identification of Opportunities and risks. The processes defined therein involve consideration of the elements of the environment, opportunities and risks, organizational capabilities, corporate resources and competencies, so as to identify the best match between opportunities and resources. Once the strategy is defined, it is necessary to carry out the implementation of the model by executing the actions to achieve the defined results. Within this implementation are taken into account the structure and relationships within the organization, the organizational processes and behaviors and the leadership required to achieve the results. Figure 7 shows the processes related to planning that are part of the implementation. n advancing the steps of planning, the entrepreneur finds hyperlinks that take him to the pages that contain the conceptual explanations and the aids that have been included and allow him the understanding and application of the elements of the plan (Gevurtz, Gevurtz, n.d.). In a first stage the concept of mission and the evaluation of the factors external to the company, that is to say, the environment and the competitors, are developed. Within this same module the strategic analysis is carried out until it reaches the financial and non-financial objectives of the business. The process of defining the basic business strategies is discussed below. Once these are defined, the basic plans for the execution of the strategies, ie the marketing plan, the operational plan, the execution plan and the financial plan, are specified. The latter is the expression, in figures, of how the business will meet its plans and achieve the objectives that have been defined. Conclusions The model developed represents a contribution to enable small and medium Colombian entrepreneurs to improve their planning processes. Taking into account that a real entrepreneur participated in the development of the model, using it in the planning of his company, providing the author with feedback on the ease of use and making suggestions on how to make the model more practical are listed below some your comments: It is a model that allows analyzing and taking into account important variables for business development. Variables that without an easy-to-understand, well-structured guide would be ignored or not given the importance they have. It gives a clear, broad and forceful vision about the whole business, allowing creating a detailed action plan for all the functions of the company." Allows budgeting and control of the company Recommendations Some of the entities that can serve as channels for this purpose are guilds, in particular and business incubators (Birkinshaw, 2004). The model can be used as it stands at present, in the form of files connected through hyperlinks. To further facilitate its use, it would be desirable to develop dedicated software that integrates all the word processing and spreadsheet functions that are required for the defined planning process References Birkinshaw, J. Script ( the Vassals) Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Script ( the Vassals) - Essay Example The boy stopped, as Mary is taking her rest. She  started to shake and utterly whispers her prayers as she saw a black shadow in front of her. I cannot believe that Nicholas and Melanie Woods are now dead. What a sorrowful experience. Life is very short and everyone lives for a total of time destined to them by fate. It is very unfortunate that there is nothing we can do about it. Once life has become that way, we only need to live to the fullest, but when the right time comes, we even go to glory without notice. With them in place, you cannot be a worried child at all. Most importantly, I was very much happy with the way they took the initiative to educate meant offer me the best they could. This is something that not all parents can do. Instead, it can only be done by just a few focused ones like my parents who knew that life is all about sacrifices. Anne my daughter! Be strong. We, as human beings, live in borrowed times. Everything that happens to us had been planned by God. The only thing we need to do is to thank the Almighty for whatever happens whether it is good or bad. After all, as a believer, you should not doubt that any unpleasant thing that happens to you has a purpose. It is meant to make you be stronger. Different Perceptions of Beauty in Nature Essay -- Transcendentalism P

Different Perceptions of Beauty in Nature Ralph Waldo Emerson derived his philosophy of transcendentalism from ideas of Plato. According to Emerson, one has to have a very sensual relationship with beauty and nature in order to reach this transcendence. However, Emerson’s outlook on beauty as written in Nature is very different from what Plato wrote in The Republic. Interestingly, these differences will result in different methods for attaining the same state of transcendence. I believe, however, that Emerson’s method best describes how the soul transcends. The act of recalling beauty in its true and perfect form, Beauty, will lead to transcendence and the recovery of the soul. To Plato, transcendence comes not from experiencing anything in the material world as Emerson says, but â€Å"only the study of unseen reality can draw the soul upward† (223). Ultimate, true Beauty is the soul in its purest, transcended form: The soul must be seen as it truly is. It must not be distorted as we find it when it is hinged to the body and its miseries. The light of reason must enable us to discover the soul in its pure form, where its beauty is far more radiant (302). According to Plato, this perfect form of Beauty can be found by examining one’s soul using reason and wisdom. It can only be found by looking within and examining that which is not part of the physical world and cannot be seen. Emerson on the other hand believes that the way to transcend the soul is to go forth into nature and experience its beauty in all the senses. He believes nature’s beauty will allow man to find wisdom and to be closer to God. He writes, â€Å"in the woods, we return to reason and faith. There I feel that nothing can befall me in life—no d... ...ight in his way of looking at the world and nature. Plato says that transcendence cannot occur by looking at the things in nature because they are merely imitations of the form of Beauty and will not recall the real thing. But Emerson says this recall is possible because God, the Good, has created this beauty. In doing so, Emerson demolishes the world of appearances and extends the divided line, naming the natural, visible world as the world of reality. Hence going out into nature will allow one to know God and true Beauty, resulting in transcendence and contradicting what Plato said in The Republic. Outline and evaluate two methods of stress management Essays

Outline and evaluate two methods of stress management. One physiological method of treatment is Biofeedback. Physiological methods help people cope with the effects of stress by changing the way the body responds to it. With biofeedback the aim is to teach the client how to relax. The person learns how to regulate the symptoms of stress in real-life stressful situations. There are 4 steps involved. Firstly, the person is attached to a machine that monitors the body’s response to stressors and then gives feed back on heart rate and blood pressure etc. The person then learns to control these symptoms and reduce the effect that stress has on the blood pressure etc. They may learn to take deep†¦show more content†¦It is also an effective treatment as it aims to treat the cause of the problem as well as the symptoms. It can give clients a greater sense of control over themselves as well which can have much longer lasting benefits. Another advantage would be that it has no side-effects or harmful addictions attached etc. It is also voluntary and not invasive for example in drug treatment withdrawal symptoms may be distressing. Biofeedback can be used for an unlimited time, as it is not addictive in the way that BZ’s (for example) can be (as they are only used for a maximum of four weeks to prevent this) so biofeedback is seen as m ore of a long term cure of stress. However, biofeedback has the drawback of being extremely costly and time consuming. It needs specialist equipment and expert supervision, although attempts have been made to produce a more accessible therapy by using cards - the client would put their thumb on a card and it would measure the stress levels (stressed, tense, normal, calm) etc. Some also argue that the benefits of biofeedback can be achieved from other relaxation techniques and so it is an unnecessary expense. Another method of stress includes the psychological technique of stress inoculation training (Meichenbaum).
